Clear Connection vs Other Lash Adhesives: What Makes It Different
Written by Jenelle Paris, certified lash artist and founder of Lash Affair
When lash artists ask me which adhesive to use, I always come back to the same answer: the one that matches your speed, holds in your environment, and doesn't compromise your client's comfort. After years of testing every adhesive on the market — and eventually formulating our own — I can tell you exactly why Clear Connection outperforms most of what's out there.
What Sets Clear Connection Apart
1-Second Dry Time with Flexibility
Most fast-drying adhesives create a rigid bond that snaps under stress. Clear Connection cures fast but maintains micro-flexibility — the extension absorbs everyday stress (sleeping, rubbing, wind) without cracking off the natural lash. This is the #1 reason our retention numbers are consistently higher.
Medical-Grade Cyanoacrylate
Lower-grade formulations contain more impurities, increasing fume output and irritation. Clear Connection uses pharmaceutical-grade cyanoacrylate with minimal irritant byproducts — less client discomfort, fewer sensitivity reactions, cleaner cure.
Humidity Tolerance
Clear Connection is formulated for a wider working range (40–70% humidity) so you spend less time fighting your environment and more time lashing.
Batch Consistency
Every bottle is batch-tested before shipping. We measure viscosity, cure time, and bond strength on every production run.
Real Performance Metrics
Retention: 3–4 weeks with proper aftercare, vs 2–3 weeks typical for comparable adhesives.
Fume level: Low-fume compared to standard fast-drying adhesives. Not a sensitive formula, but significantly less irritating than most 1-second adhesives.
Shelf life after opening: 6–8 weeks with proper storage, vs 4–6 weeks for most competitors.
Working temperature range: 65–75°F — more flexibility than the narrow 68–72°F window most adhesives require.
When Clear Connection Might Not Be Right
If you're a beginner: The 1-second dry time may be too fast. Use a 2-second adhesive until your speed improves.
If your client has diagnosed adhesive sensitivity: Use a dedicated sensitive adhesive with modified chemistry.
If you need clear (no pigment): Clear Connection contains carbon black. For colored extensions or bottom lash work, use a clear adhesive.
Try It
Order a single bottle and test it on 5–10 clients. Pay attention to retention at 2 weeks and 3 weeks — that's where the difference shows.
