“I don’t believe in one way to lash. Be honest with your clients, keep their lash line healthy, and be who you want to be!”
1. WHAT IS YOUR STORY?
I was born in Minneapolis and moved to Tucson in 1983. I worked in bar and restaurant management for most of my life. I didn’t want to work late nights anymore and my sister kept asking me to open a lash business with her. We are both education addicted, hard working, and have pretty much the same ideas on everything so it works perfectly. I decided to quit my job and went to esthetics school full time for five months, as well as receiving my classic certification in December of 2015. In less than a year, my sister and I opened Lash Studio. It was exciting and scary but I thought, just go for it! Since opening, we’ve taken on a Junior Partner, @precisioncosmetics, who does microblading, and we also rent a space to @volume.skinlash—we couldn’t be happier with our additions.
2. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE ASPECT OF YOUR JOB?
Lashing has taught me patience, that’s for sure. I love the artistry—giving different styles to all of my clients and trying not to replicate any looks.
3. DO YOU HAVE A CERTAIN STYLE YOU PREFER?
I love being versatile and offering original styles. I don’t believe in one way to lash. Be honest with your clients, keep their lash line healthy, and be who you want to be! That is what I hope to portray with my Instagram feed.
5. WHAT'S THE BEST WAY YOU'VE FOUND TO ATTAIN & RETAIN CLIENTS?
Customer service is a dying characteristic of business! I treat my clients the way I want them to treat me. I provide a sanitary environment, a super comfy treatment bed, relaxing music, and my 100% attention to their lash line.
6. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT LASH AFFAIR?
I saw Lash Affair on Instagram when I first started lashing. I have a love of the Eiffel Tower so the brand stood out to me. I ordered the product and loved it. I absolutely love that the team is ALWAYS working on the next phase and that the company has such a positive attitude and excellent customer service.
7. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE LASH AFFAIR PRODUCT?
I absolutely love couture lashes! Jet black, easy to fan, and perfect peel away strips for quick removal and replace.
8. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A NEW LASH ARTIST?
Look at other artists who are where you want to be but don’t compare yourselves to other people. Take tons of credible training and, as long as you stick to isolation and application rules, you can do whatever you like!
