WHERE DO YOU WORK?
I work in Arizona's charming Downtown Chandler area. I first worked for AZ Lash Lady as an independent contractor, now I am the new owner going on 4 years!
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN LASHING AND WHAT CERTIFICATIONS DO YOU HAVE?
I've been doing lashes for almost 6 years. My first classic certification I took at Aesthetics Supplies by Bertha with instructor Heather Ames. I went on to learn volume with LashFX (Jill Heijligers-Peloquin’s) online course. I was then certified by Maven Artistry Trina Dahl. And the last certification course I took was with LashBox LA.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO BECOME A LASH ARTIST? WHAT GOT YOU INTO LASHING?
I became a lash artist after leaving an unhealthy marriage, with no job and two babies at the time who depended solely on me. I fell in love with lashing!
WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST FEAR GOING INTO THIS INDUSTRY?
My biggest fear when first starting out was not knowing if I'd be able to build a solid clientele in order to support my family.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE ASPECT OF BEING A LASH ARTIST?
My favorite aspect of being a lash artist is the creativity and the flexible schedule. Oh, and all my clients whom I've come to know and adore!
OTHER THAN LASHING, WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE HOBBY?
My favorite hobbies are relaxing outdoors, traveling and being silly with friends.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A NEW LASH ARTIST?
Take at least 1 class or attend 1 conference a year. Practice, practice, practice!
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING TO ACCOMPLISH IN THE LASH INDUSTRY?
In the lash industry I would like to accomplish being the best lash artist I can be while providing a high quality service with raving customers. I would love to enter more lash competitions and have a wall of trophies! So far I've entered into 3 competitions. The first one I entered in, I won 3rd place in my category: LAI Fantasy Lash Art online Competition.
WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR INSPIRATIONS?
There's many people I draw inspiration from such as my cycle instructor Kristina, Gary Vaynerchuk, and The Tattooed Realtor. On Instagam, @lashfxglobal @holly2807 @melissa_atlash.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY YOU’VE FOUND TO GAIN AND RETAIN YOUR CLIENTS?
In the begging I gained most of my clients from Groupon. Once I got them in the door I just showed them what I was made of, from the moment they walked into the door to the application process and finally the checkout, I made it a wonderful experience for them. I have a lot of passion for the lash industry and people can see that.
